Farran Technology - Developed Applications

Farran Technology’s products find application in the defence and security markets, horizontally integrated across broadband wireless, satellite, radar and advanced imaging applications.
Examples include:

LEADING-EDGE MMIC DESIGNS - 100 GHz power amplifier and high-sensitivity receiver MMICs for the European Space Agency (ESA) for use in future ESA atmospheric chemistry and environmental missions.

MMIC COMPONENTS - Design and manufacture of a range of MMIC-based components, covering the frequency range from 10 GHz to 100 GHz for a variety of imaging and wireless communications applications. These include mixers, multipliers, power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers and dielectric resonance oscillators.

MMIC UP/DOWN-CONVERTER SUBSYSTEMS - Design and manufacture of a range of wideband and narrowband up and down-converters at frequencies up to 100 GHz for use in satellite uplinks, specialist test equipment, broadband receivers and radar applications.

FMCW RADAR FRONT-ENDS - Design and manufacture of MMIC-based FMCW radar frontends for customised imaging applications, operating at 60 GHz, 77 GHz and 94 GHz.

BROADBAND WIRELESS ACCESS (BWA) FRONT-ENDS - Farran has developed a frontend for the CEPT-Licenced 40.5GHz – 43.5 GHz MVDS application.

CUSTOMISED RECEIVER ARRAYS AND RADIOMETER FRONT-ENDS - Wideband, lownoise receiver arrays and radiometer front-ends at frequencies from 30 GHz to 300 GHz.

TEST EQUIPMENT MODULES - Design and manufacture of a range of waveguide harmonic mixers that are built to extend the frequency range of Spectrum Analyzers up to 110 GHz.
