Blu ray discs are the newest and the latest when it comes to optical disc storage. The time of the DVD and the CD seems to be coming to an end. DVD’s had the disadvantage of only being able to store only about 700 MB of data on the disc, but Blu ray discs can store up to 50 GB memory on a single disc.
A good blu ray dvd player needs to play not only blu ray discs but CDs and DVDs as well. As blu ray discs are read and written using a different wavelength of rays, the technology used in the blu ray dvd player is one that has to be compatible with the new blu ray technology as well as the older HD DVD technology.

A must-have for many and there are many models available for purchase at stores and even online. A blu ray dvd player is a great possession to boast about as it still isn’t totally mainstream, even though it can be purchased at many online and other electronics stores. Although in paying for dvd player, you’d be paying more than you do for a normal player, you are paid back by the quality of the experience.

Viewers are now not satisfied with just a normal quality picture. That’s fair enough as we like to say that we’re getting what we paid for. Buying a new blue Ray dvd play ensures that you have the benefit of many new features and get a better viewing experience as well.

For example with blu ray technology, the discs will be capable of holding much more information than before, and so hence a movie could be watched with the added specials in it.

The dvd player has been released by many companies, all trying to get into the market with the newest technology. Fortunately for consumers who still have CDs and DVDs, big players like Sony, Panasonic and Samsung produce a bluray dvd player that’s compatible with CDs and DVDs as well.

Companies don’t really have to use this backward compatible technology, because it is optional in manufacture, but decide to do it to improve sales to customers who are reluctant to let go of older technologies.
